I know you like writing. How does it feel for you to be doing something you enjoy?

Eva Simone:

It is truly overwhelming. I have tried a lot of different things over the years, searching for my place in the world. As soon as I started writing,a I just fell in love with it. Whenever I sit down to spend time with my characters I have the biggest smile on my face.  I still can't quite believe it to be honest!

And why do you decide to write erotica?

Eva Simone:

I come from a very religious family with strong views on sex before marriage and sex in general. It definitely warped my view of sex, and I would say I was quite repressed until I read FSOG about 4 years ago. It opened my eyes to a new way of looking a sex, and I felled in love with the genre. It seemed like a logical choice when I started writing.  And it turns out, I find it quite easy to write the hotter scenes so it is a perfect fit!

Eva Simone:

Their personalities are very similar. My hubs is a walking Brandon without the Ferrari! Lily is quite similar to me in a lot of ways. Her college degree is exactly what i studied!!!! Next set of characters are not like us at all!!!!

Does you hubby have some friends like Simon? If so, I am available for introductions.

Day Two with Eva Simone - Amanda

Eva Simone:

This story is not your typical Dom/Sub story and more a love story between two souls, yet you give Brandon and Lily dominant and submissive qualities, how important was it to write this book as a love story and still be able to provide the sexual connection between the characters?

Eva Simone:

Well this book is very close to my heart, being my first creation I went with what I know!  The characters are based heavily on real life people and their journey.  I think it is paramount to any love story to show the sexual connection between the characters. Sex is a basic instinct that draws people to each other, and is an essential part of any loving relationship. I don't think Brandon and Lily would have been so well received if the sexual element wasn't present. It gives insight into their deep connection on every level

Amanda:

Why was Lily's character a virgin and not an experienced woman? What is the significance of her purity to the story?

Eva Simone:

Lily's character was based on me, so I guess I wanted to show that you don't need to have experience to know what you're doing, and to grow into a bit of a vixen!

Amanda:

I must admit I did connect with Lily character on a personal level.

Amanda:

Brandon's character is not your dominant alpha male throughout the book but he does show his dominance towards Lily during intimacy, he is very loving and tender with Lily, Do you feel this tender and loving yet sexual dominant personality made the character more attractive to the reader oppose to the full out dominant alpha male characters that are already out there?

Eva Simone:

I love hearing that.  It's what every author hopes for!

Eva Simone:

I think so. He's been dubbed the Gentleman Alpha now, which I like. I think women want to be dominated on a number of levels, but we all like to assert our independence and our own free will. Brandon gives Lily the freedom to be her own person, however, when he feels she needs a nudge, or protection from something, he is willing to step up and do what is necessary.

Eva Simone:

And obviously he is dominant in the bedroom - who doesn't love that!

Reading this book I felt emotionally attached to the characters, my heart skipped beats when Lily and Brandon expressed themselves, I felt sexual desire when they were intimate, I felt pain when they were heart broken, When you were writing this book, what emotion(s) were you trying to capture from the reader?

Eva Simone:

All of the above.  I wanted the reader to take the same journey I did as I wrote Brandon and Lily's story.  I wanted them to feel the real emotions that we deal with in our daily lives. All relationships contain ups and downs, laughs and tears, and sexual desire is something that can get lost in the day to day when you have been with someone for a long time. With those scenes I really wanted to get the readers imagination going because I've been there myself in the past. It's so easy as mothers to forget that we are desirable women, and if my book can ignite that spark, reminding a woman that her husband/partner desires her, and her him, then I'll be happy!

Amanda:

You did an amazing job because I felt everything the characters felt

Eva Simone:

Thank you so much. I think I'm a very emotional person in my own life, so I'm glad that has transferred into my writing.

Amanda:

Lily and Brandon suffered a lot of pain when their past showed up in their present lives, they were so connected and in love yet they did not confide in each other when they really needed too, Why was this part of the story important to tell?

Eva Simone:

Because I think we all have things in our lives that we keep to ourselves. No matter how much you love someone and you know they love you, it can be difficult to share something that you feel could change their view of you.

And we all need to learn to trust the love that people have for us

Amanda:

I totally agree with you on that

Eva Simone:

The day of Brandon and Lily’s wedding you gave us Brandon’s POV, which I thought was beautiful, Why did you end the book this way?

Eva Simone:

I have always loved to see another POV in a book, and after seeing and feeling most of the book from Lily's perspective  I wanted to share the real depth of Brandon's emotions and feelings towards Lily. I felt he deserved it as he has a beautiful soul and that can only truly be captured in his POV

Amanda:

Brandon's POV made me cry and touched me deep down. To know that a male can have such emotion on his wedding day is just beautiful

Eva, considering that I just started reading your book, how would you describe it to someone who has never read it

Eva Simone:

Ok, that's a tough one! I had a hard time writing the blurb for it!!!! I would say it's a story about love, loss, friendship and self discovery. It is driven by emotion and I hope the characters come across as real people with real feelings.

Sarah:

Do you think the readers will feel that emotion throughout the book?

Eva Simone:

I hope so.  The feedback so far seems to confirm that.  The trailer that one of my readers made captures every emotion I poured into writing it, so I guess I did my job!

Sarah:

How are you handling the fangirling with the book?

Honestly??? It's been amazing. I find it odd that anyone would get excited about chatting with me, or me adding them as a friend. I feel more like I'm making friends rather than having people fangirl!!

Social media connecting authors and readers, it really is a great way to be involved. What does your husband think of all the positive attention surrounding the book?

Eva Simone:

He is extremely proud of me, and has been really understanding of all the time I've had to spend online.  His support has been amazing

What advice do you have for anyone want to write and publish their own publication?

Eva Simone:

Go for it. I picked up a pen for the first time in January of this year, and I didn't think I could make it happen, but here I am with book 2 well under way!  Find a few people you trust to give you honest feedback, a good editor and write write write.

well I am writing from my heart, so when I feel strongly about a situation, I start to write

Jake Furie Lapin:

I try to keep refeencing my hashtag and my website so they know this is a biz for me

although it's personal also in a way, so i try to balance

What does being sexually incompatible mean to you? And can that incompatibility ever be over come?

Jake Furie Lapin:

well when one doesn't have the same tastes as the other...in plain vanilla, you tend to compromise, and in BDSM there is no compromise

in my case, my ex didn't like oral, giving or receiving, and I thought I could change that...BDSM, i just move on

With all your trials and tribulations throughout your life do you have any regrets

moments I should have seized when I was younger, yes...but now I know to seize the moment as it many never come again

eat 6 small fist sized meals a day

eat only whole foods..things that are grown or killed
